New Marina

The construction of the New Chios Marina is advancing rapidly, maintaining its predetermined schedule as a flagship investment project for the island. Led by Marina Chiou S.A., a company within the Tefa Group, the project is designed to generate significant added value for the local economy, which is already benefiting through the active participation of local crews and suppliers in the construction phase.

After nearly a year of activity, physical work is progressing steadily with a strong focus on minimizing impact to the natural and residential environment. Current efforts include the critical task of demolishing existing concrete pier bridges and replacing them with modern prefabricated elements, alongside the construction of a seasonal pier. Furthermore, essential foundation work is underway for the main shore-based facilities, which will house the Administration Office, communal services, and future commercial spaces.

Future phases will involve installing electromechanical networks along the piers and erecting the superstructures for the boathouse and the boat-hauling ramp. Once finalized, the completed marina is expected to become an attractive, high-quality hub for leisure and entrepreneurship, providing a major boost to Chios’s navigation, marine, and general tourism sectors. The project is anticipated to create new employment opportunities and firmly establish the marina as a modern point of reference for the island and the broader Aegean.
