Tour in Athens

Hospitality company Accor collected data from cities across Europe, analyzing factors such as the percentage of the center that is exclusively pedestrian, the availability and affordability of public transportation, and the proximity of tourist attractions to each other.

Athens scored the highest with 99.75 out of 100, demonstrating how easy it is to explore without a car. The pedestrian zone around the Acropolis was particularly impressive, while neighborhoods such as Plaka, Monastiraki and Psirri are all within walking distance. The coastal area is also easily accessible by tram, while the airport can be reached by metro, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The city has four major railway hubs and its overall score for accessibility and convenience reached an impressive 97%.
